Teenage bedroom ideas?
I am 13 and my bedroom is completly purple (except the carpet) and i absoloutly hate it. My mum won’t decorate it so can you give me any ideas to make it look better.
The decor is dark purple on two walls and lilac on the other two. The carpet is cream and I have a cream mat. My bedcovers are all lilac/drk purple.
The furniture I have is -
a trio bunk bed (double on the bottom, single on top)
a desk and chair
a canvas wardrobe
a small cupboard with a tv on
a set of shelves.
Thanks anyway
x
I meant to say m mum won’t let me decorate it.
Sometimes turning duvets inside out makes the colour less visible but doesnt always look particularly good.
You could cover up some of the furniture with cushions.
You could cover the walls with posters or pictures or photographs of you and some friends and family.
Kids Decor Bedroom Tips And Decorating Ideas
The Bedroom is somewhere most of us spend a large portion of our time. On average, we spend 30% of our entire life in the bedroom so it’s important the bedroom is made as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
When planning for the children’s bedroom, take the time to carefully arrange the design. Safety should be your priority for a babies room and spunky to appeal to teenagers.
Baby Bedroom Decor. Themes for a baby’s room should be visually soothing and delightful on the eye. Cartoon characters are a great option such as Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse. Your babies favorite theme can adorn the bedding, wall, carpet or posters. Fantasy themes are also a terrific idea. Add some charm to the room with magical characters such as pink fairies or Aladdin.
You can easily add an aquatic theme introducing some cool and refreshing greens and blues. Transform the room into an aquarium using ocean animals, sea murals, a bed canopy and themed bedding. Organize and match the wall hangings or wallpaper. Keeping in mind how quickly kids seem to grow up, if all this seems too fussy, simply plan the room in a way that only a few minor adjustments are needed, as they grow older.
Tween Bedroom Decor. Think about the nature of your child prior to undertaking a new theme for their bedroom. At this stage of life, older kids tend to start developing individual tastes, therefore include your tween in the design process and consult them for the desired outcome. For a kid who shows an interest in sport hang a basketball hoop, or use hockey sticks in place of curtain rods. For the musical kid, hang some cool posters or exhibit a guitar as a feature wall. Stencils can also easily add creativity and innovation – palm trees, tropical beaches or animals.
Teenage Bedroom Decor. At this part of his/her life, they will start to consider themselves to be an adult without really being one. The decor for teenager’s bedrooms can have elements of fun and adulthood at the same time. Teenagers despise being treated like a kid, so take this into account before the design process.
Hollywood and glamour are certain to effect some influence on many teenagers, thankfully they grow out of this influence as time flies by. Props and cinema memorabilia can be utilized, adding glitz and shimmer to reflect their idols. Together with some cinema style seating (for furniture) sets the tone for a real Hollywood look and feel.
Introduce the deserts and oasis with a stunning Egyptian topic – unique artifacts, exotic textiles and Cleopatra. Create a tropical atmosphere using the light and color to produce a tropical ambience.
Go beyond the obvious, be creative and create their own little place on earth they can treasure.
