instructions how can I make DIY resin panels, for home decor?

I am looking to make some panels to use as a backsplash is my new bathroom, and also to make shower doors. I know I need fiberglass mesh, and I will be using an eco friendly resin, however beyond that I need some help. I just need to know how to make the form to poor it in, and the steps in which I need to poor the resin and lay the mesh. I also would like to place some organic matter( such as bamboo, or dried flowers inside the panels. I tried DIY network and couldn’t find any thing, but they do show the bamboo and stuff was right in the middle of the panel..I hope this makes sence to some one other than me lol. PLEASE HELP>

In order to make the “mold” (form used to make panels) you would first make a “master” of what you wish to make (a master is a really good mock up of what you wish to make) ie a bathtub master should have the shape of a bathtub. This master has to be as perfect as you can make it as any imperfections will show up in every panel you make. You then make a fiberglass mold using the master. Be sure to build good bracing into the mold. In order to make the mold you first have to get the master waxed up so the fiberglass will not stick to it. It’s similar to waxing a car with multiple coats of wax. You then spray on a release agent to help the mold and master separate. Then you “gel-coat” the panel you haven’t made yet by spraying the master. Then you “lay out” the fiberglass and “wet” it with the resin. There are special rollers you use to get the air bubbles out of the fiberglass and get it to lie the way you wish. Make sure you mix the resin and catalyst properly before you start! After the mold has hardened you separate the two. We used to tilt them up, drive a wooden wedge in between them and pour water into the gap until they came apart but a simple panel might be easier to get apart.Making the panels is just about the same as making the mold. If you use clear gel-coat and then add your “decorations” the hard part is making sure you don’t have air around whatever you add for decorations.

Good Luck!
