How to balance my eclectic hippy/drag queen inner soul with (Ikk!) “country” decor?

My hubby Troll and I are now proud owners of a trailer.. with a “Western” rancher motif. The brown print in the kitchen and the washed out pale pink in the master bed room and bathroom have to go!!!
I meant to say, (bad proof reading on my part)
that both walls feature wall paper in that particular motif. Call me a snob, but I do not want to look at brown chuck wagon wheels in a beige sea of tumble weed and the skull or two of a deceased animal….
((Cloversetter)) Did I mention that the “soaker tub” in a very pale beigy/pink and the surrounding walls is strangely accompanying shades of equally washed out pinks reminds me of …70′s chic porn… (minus the presence of mirrors from top to bottom… in there)

Do you suppose this was the former “pad” of 1977 swingers… ??

Sounds like your trailer was decorated around the same time as mine was. Pink sculptured carpet, frilly burgundy valances, little flowery wallpaper, little flowers on the kitchen floor, burgundy and pink border wallpaper. Looked like around 1978 when I moved in here 3 years ago. It came from the factory like that. I saw another one for sale with the exact same frilly valances and borders. You might not be able to do anything much about the tub without replacing it, but for the walls, paint them. Find colours that de-emphasize the pink tones in the tub. You may have vinyl wallpaper, so get a really good primer and paint out all the western wallpaper. Makes a huge difference when you get rid of all the patterns. It will look better with just primer on it. I changed the floors to a woodgrain vinyl plank which looks so much like wood that people think it is until I tell them otherwise, and since there is no point trying to make a silk purse of a sow’s ear, its price is appropriate for a middle aged mobile.
